FURNITURE

Handmade wooden furniture focused on modularity, efficiency, and adaptability to make the most of compact spaces.

SIDE SLEEPER

This was designed in response to the shortcomings of existing storage beds: they offer little in terms of flexibility, style, craftsmanship, and useful space, and they still come with a high price tag. The Side Sleeper features a full bed frame, which comes apart and packs flat, and 4 stand-alone drawer units that fit underneath. With 8 drawers in total it can hold an entire wardrobe, freeing up essential space in a small home or apartment. Made from oriented strand board (OSB), plywood, and solid pine using 3D-printed drill and router guides to maintain consistency and precision with simple tools.

LOLA COLLECTION

Named for its low-profile, the Lola Collection imagines how, through limiting our footprint in an overpopulated world, we might live and work more efficiently.  It features two pieces of transitional furniture optimized for small spaces: a floor-level desk that becomes a low coffee table when closed, and a shelf with a seat back to compliment the user's natural sitting posture.  Made from quarter-sawn ash, birch ply, and maple veneer with SOSS hinges.

CARTER CHAIR

A modern take on a classic piece of Americana, this pared-back design brings the emotional comfort of old-fashioned rocking chairs into an updated form that’s comfortable, lightweight, material-efficient, and easy to maintain. Several rounds of prototypes started with an approximated form which I continued to test and adjust for correct proportions and comfort. Made from solid ash with a fabric seat that’s easily removable and machine-washable.
